Smelly! Why would you ever name a daylily that? Well, I completely love the fragrance this one gives off. I wonder why most daylilies have no fragrance. In fact I can only think of three that I grow that have significant fragrance. Smelly being the best fragrant one here. When it is in bloom I make an effort to get a whiff. I called it Smelly for years and the name stuck. The flower is a very nice modern pink. If fragrance is your thing, you must have this one.
I googled, what is the reaction to a good smell:
A good smell triggers positive emotional and physiological responses, activating brain areas for emotion and memory, releasing mood-boosting neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, causing feelings of happiness, relaxation, and comfort, and potentially improving focus, creativity, and performance
